Donation to Track and Field Program
#: 252-F&T5096    ID: 1
Description:

Your donation will support Washington Technology Magnet’s Track and Field Program.  We are located in St. Paul’s North End neighborhood off of Rice Street.  Our neighborhood and our building is one of the most diverse and poorest neighborhoods in the state.  We have over 30 home language spoken in our building.  Over 90% of our students receive Free and Reduced Lunch.  We believe they deserve the same access to a quality sports experience that all other students across the state have access to. Many of our athletes are new to the sport and are the first generation in their family to participate in a sport.  In addition, these students have difficulty purchasing the key equipment needed to participate in track or finding transportation home after meets and practice.

This year, with a new team of coaches, we look to build this program from the ground up and we need your support.  As we begin to put this program together, we realize we lack basic equipment needed for our student-athletes to participate. The athletes we talk to about track are excited for the season to start and ready to work hard.  We want to give them the best experience we can and the same experience as kids in other schools enjoy.  Any money raised here will go directly to providing our athletes with shoes, shorts, spikes, warm ups, food for our long track meets, and bus tokens.

Please consider donating to these student athletes who cannot not only learn the sport of track, but gain some quality life experiences.  Our coaching mission is simple to understand but takes time and resources to teach: winners win a race, but it is much harder to be a champion; yet anyone can be a champion.  Champions demonstrate work ethic, are coachable and teachable, take good risks, express empathy and sportsmanship, prepare, ask for help and give help, and have positive attitudes.  Your donation can help us build a team of champions.

All donations are fully tax deductible and a letter will be sent directly to you with all of the proper tax reporting information. Any amount of money that you can contribute is greatly appreciated! If you are unable to contribute, then all we ask is that you please consider sharing this message with your social media network.
