Description:
We are trying to raise money to support our 6-12 grade baseball program at Washington Technology Magnet School. Washington is located on the North End of St. Paul’s Rice Street and serves a very diverse student body. As over 90% of our students receive Free and Reduced Lunch, we recognize that many of our players are unable to pay their fees and acquire much of the equipment that they need in order to perform. This year will mark a rebirth of our program with new coaches and many first-time players. However, as we begin our new baseball season, our baseball program lacks the necessary equipment for our student-athletes to participate. Our players are extremely dedicated and work very hard. The majority of the players walk a mile to practice every day and often a mile back to school to catch a city bus home every day. Any money raised here will go directly to providing our players with gloves, bats, cleats, helmets, and bus cards both now and in the future. A portion of any funds donated will also go towards an incentive program where players will earn money to pay for the cost of their hat and socks through attendance and hard work. Please consider donating to these young men who are eager to learn the game of baseball. The coaching staff is excited to not only teach the players the skills of the game but also instill in them the values of cooperation, leadership, perseverance, and sportsmanship that are learned in organized sports. All donations are fully tax deductible and a letter will be sent directly to you with all of the proper tax reporting information. Any amount of money that you can contribute is greatly appreciated! If you are unable to contribute, then all we ask is that you please consider sharing this message with your social media network.
